The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses of 18 IITs, ISM Dhanbad, 32 NITs, 18 IIITs and 19 other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) all over the country. Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main exam has two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2. Candidates may opt for either or both of them. Both papers contain multiple choice questions. Paper 1 is for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses. It is conducted both online and offline. Paper-2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses.
It is important for all of the applicant candidates to keep CBSE Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main 2017 admit card or hall ticket safe till the counselling and admission procedure is completed. As per the information updated by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), while downloading the JEE Main 2017 admit card or hall ticket, the applicants will be able to enter/update their roll number of 12th standard/improvement examination.
Before downloading the admit card/ hall ticket of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017, all of the applicants are requested to cross-check the particulars reflecting on it like the document like name, date of birth, paper, gender, test centre, state code of eligibility and category, city and more. In case of any discrepancy, the applicants must report immediately to the JEE Main Secretariat.
Steps to download JEE Main Admit Card 2017
The following steps can be used by the applicant candidates to download the admit card/ hall ticket of JEE Main 2017.

The applicants will be redirected to the admit card portal.
Enter JEE Main 2017 Application Number, date of birth and security pin in the admit card window
Click on “Submit” button.
The admit card will be reflected on your computer screen. Check and ensure that all the details on it are correct and download it. After downloading take a print out for future use.
Along with the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Admit Card 2017, the applicant candidates are advised to bring the copies of the following documents (as per the applicable criteria) while reporting at the examination centre. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet issued any official announcement regarding this, however since last year this procedure was implemented, the applicants should keep the documents ready.

Note: The applicants have to write JEE Main 2017 roll number on the documents being submitted in support of XII class/qualifying exam the exam centre on exam day.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017 Exam Pattern
Paper 1 of JEE Main 2017 will be held on April 2 in offline mode and on April 8 & 9 in online mode.

JEE Main paper-1 is of three hours duration and consists of thirty multiple-choice (single-correct) questions in each of the three subjects (physics, chemistry and mathematics). There is negative marking for incorrect answers. 4 marks are awarded for correct answers and 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answers.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has notified following two changes in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) pattern for 2017:
1. There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination.
2. For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
